Introduced in the Guardians Expansion, Global Events are a number of special events and effects that apply to the whole world, and may produce obstacles or opportunities. These events can be broadly grouped into two categories: Global Quests and World Effects.

Global Quests[]

Global Quests are a special type of side quest that are available to all players in the game simultaneously. There are two main types of global quests, Competitive and Cooperative. Competitive quests involve some goal that can only be completed by one player, and provides a significant reward upon completion. Cooperative quests start by introducing a negative World Effect, then presenting a means to remove said effect that all players may contribute to; upon completion, the World Effect is removed, everyone that contributed receives a reward, and the player that contributed the most receives an additional reward.

Competitive Quests[]

Wings of Ruin
Wings of Ruin Description
Enough rumors from enough sources might just be fact. Wanderers and hermits tell of an old ruin wherein lie sleeping deathless angels - or winged demons - created to destroy beings whose strength derived from Dust.
Though they appear to be the quintessence of the Endless technologies, they lack the drop of power needed to awaken and fly. The native flight capacity of native Auriga creatures may hold the key.
Summary New Objective Outcome
The ability to fly of an Auriga native can be used to reanimate ancient flying warriors. 1. With an army composed of only a single flying unit of Lv.4 minimum, search the highlighted Ruins. The flying Unit will be consumed in order to reanimate the sleepers.
2. Keep armies from other empires or Minor Factions away from the region of [Region] for 5 turns minimum.
You have awakened the ancient power of these Constructs; use it wisely.

Winter Most Worrying
Winter Most Worrying Description
It is always a concern when the sages and seers begin to speak in capital letters. Now they are even rolling their eyes and pulling their tresses, speaking of Ancient Spirits Of Auriga or Manifestations Of The Lost.
Apparently, the Dark Season can bring on unexpected effects. An ancient Air Guardian of Auriga is peacefully roaming the wilds, and it is clear that one of these beings of colossal power would be a great asset to your empire. To recreate it, however, you must first defeat it and learn its secrets.
Make haste to that region! If you defeat the Guardian, the powers of this colossus will then be yours to command.
Summary New Objective Outcome
Heed the advice of your sages and defeat the Guardian roaming in [Region]. If you do so, you will learn its secrets. Before the end of the Dark Season, locate the region [Region] and be the first to defeat the Guardian roaming there. The language of your sages returns to something less apocalyptic; you have unlocked the secrets of a Guardian!

There is Something Out There...
There is Something Out There... Description
"A roar... a thunder of waves and the stink of rotting fish... then the ship just disappeared!"
A monster has been reported out in the deep blue. Wild-eyed mariners claim it is the size of great ships, even the size of islands. It has been attacked and even wounded, but never killed. A mass of tentacles attached to a great maw, the only good news to have come from these tall tales is that there apparently is only one - but that it is a wanderer and appears anywhere, rising suddenly from the depths to strike and feed.
The Roving Clans call it Muumang, the Ardent Mages refer to it as Durxeri, and it is Gelysbyr to the Morgawr. Whatever its name, stories abound of it and ships have broken on it, little is known except for a few scarce facts. First, should it die, it will finally disgorge the tons of wealth it has been ingesting for decades. Second, should any part of it survive, it will regenerate itself. Third, you probably need a bigger boat...
Summary New Objective Outcome
Unaffected by the sea weather, the Sea Monster is a terrible destructive force rising invisibly from the depths! Kill it if you can and grab the wealth from its belly. But if you cannot kill it completely, it will regenerate and return... Find the Sea Monster before it finds you, and become a (rich) hero by killing it. The monster was last seen in [Ocean], but its movements are not predictable. Bloody but unbowed, your fleet has defeated the greatest maritime calamity on Auriga! It is time to plunder the guts of the gruesome thing, and take the loot that has been won with such difficulty.

Truly, the empire who can control and advance Kazar, Chaka, and Fakir to their full potential will be mighty indeed.
Summary New Objective Outcome
The legendary Urkans have returned to the surface - they must be tamed! Be the first Empire to tame all 3 Urkans and unlock all 13 of their special Abilities. You did it! A Plague of Savagery

Summary New Objective Outcome
Minor Factions have become more dangerous than ever; afflicted by a disease that drives them mad. You must find a way to end the outbreak. Stop the outbreak in its tracks by pacifying all the [Minor Faction] villages in [Region]. Pyres of diseased corpses cast a foul smoke into the sky, but Auriga is free of the pestilence once again.

From Dust to Rust
From Dust to Rust Description
Something is eating away at Auriga - literally. Reports have come in from many empires that the quality of metals has drastically decreased; it has become very expensive to forge or craft new items.
Rumor and science both point to ruins as the cause, as apparently some ancient magic has been slowly eating away at Strategic Resources. If you are to stop this effect, you must interrupt the cycle by delivering these arcane metals to the ruins in order to overload whatever magical agent is behind the curse. All the empires of Auriga have an interest in putting an end to this phenomenon!
Summary New Objective Outcome
Metals are rusting and weakening at an alarming rate! The empires of Auriga must attack the problem at ruins, where some ancient magic is leeching Strategic Resources. Help donate a total of 40 [Adamantian/Palladian]. Each time you search a ruin it will cost you 8 of this resource, which will be contributed. While the secret of the Dust magic that sublimated the Strategic Resources is unknown, the effect has been terminated and the business of forging returns to normal.

The Price of Luxury
The Price of Luxury Description
There is a strange failure in the use of luxuries. Their cost has skyrocketed; they seem to have lost their effects on the populace who begin to show indifference - or ignorance - of their wondrous mysteries and powers. The most wondrous things on the planet are simply being taken for granted!
The best offense is excess; let all the factions trigger Lucury Resource Boosters and bathe the planet in their abundance. Then the people will wake up to the glorious world in which they live!
Summary New Objective Outcome
Luxury resource costs have skyrocketed as the populace becomes jaded and indifferent. We must work together to shake them out of this lassitude. Help activate 10 Luxury boosters among the following: Blood Crystal BloodCrystal Grey 256x256, Grassilk Glassilk Grey 256x256, Moonleaf MoonLeaf Grey 256x256, Quicksilver QuickSilver Grey 256x256, Titan Bones Bones Grey 256x256.
