Armor are items that may be equipped on heroes and units. Armor primarily boosts Life and Defense, providing additional survivability, but may provide other bonuses depending on the equipment's material.
As with weapons and accessories, all Tier 1 Iron armor pieces are available at the start of the game, and further Iron and Dust armor pieces are unlocked by progressing into further technological Eras. The other standard armor pieces can be unlocked by getting the associated Technology from research or as a reward from Quests, and are shown below:
Tier | Technology | |
---|---|---|
/ | 1 | Advanced Armor |
/ | 2 | Alchemical Armor |
/ | 3 | Exotic Armor |
/ | 1 | Uncommon Armor |
/ | 2 | Marvelous Armor |
/ | 3 | Exceptional Armor |
/ | 1 | Rare Armor |
/ | 2 | Puissant Armor |
/ | 3 | Arcane Armor |
There are also a handful of unique accessories that are acquired by other means, such as quests or blessings.

While naval armor provides the same general purpose of increasing a unit's survivability, it works slightly differently. There are three different type of naval armor - Plating, Hydrofoils, and Prows - that can be equipped on the various ships, but Plating and Hydrofoils occupy the same armor slot, meaning you must choose one or the other, and Prows can only be equipped on the Fire Ship, Artillery Ship, and Vore.
Additionally, each type of armor only has four variations, rather than having three tiers of for each resource. Instead, there is the Iron version of each piece of armor available from the start, and the next three tiers are unlocked by the technologies that unlock armor of a given resource. For example, unlocking Advanced Armor, Alchemical Armor, or Exotic Armor unlocks the Tier 2 naval armor pieces, which each use Titanium and Glassteel.
