A city improvement exclusive to the Ardent Mages obtained from the Altar of Transcendence technology which is unlocked by completing Chapter 7 of the Ardent Mages faction quest. Constructing the Altar of Transcendence is required to complete Chapter 8 of the Ardent Mages faction quest.
The Altar comes in two different forms that provide the same effects, but require different resources. One requires 
Adamantian and 
Mithrite, while the other requires 
Palladian and 
Hyperium. The version received upon completing Chapter 7 is random, but will determine which resources are necessary to complete Chapter 8 Part 1.

When constructed, this dense slab of some of Auriga's rarest materials hums with Dust energy. Mages strong and brave enough to climb into its recessed contours will transcend or die. Either way they will experience unimaginable pain.
